December 2023
Dear Church Family,
I am nearing the conclusion of my four years and four months as your Supply Minister. When I began in September of 2019, I thought I would be with you for 4 months.
It has been a privilege and a blessing to be a part of the Coldwater / Eady Pastoral Charge again. We have shared many special times together times in worship, times in fellowship, time in meetings and times of simply being together.
These past years brought the challenge of Covid and not being able to be together in person. Throughout these times we were reminded of how important it is be with one another in person. There were joyful days when we were able to return to worship together and gather as a faith community.
As we prepare for this time of Advent, when our days are becoming shorter and we long for the light, let us behold the places of light and of hope in our world.
The birth of the Christ Child who comes to us on Christmas morning is the gift of God’s incarnate presence with us.
The physical presence of our Creator is given to us as an innocent baby Jesus, who will grow into a man filled with wisdom, creativity, compassion and love.
A wonderful teacher, a friend and a companion for us throughout all of the days and nights of our of our lives.
Jesus is the one who teaches us how to be messengers of love for each other and for our world.
The gifts of Christmas are simple: hope, peace, joy and love.
Let us prepare our hearts and our souls to accept these gifts and to share them with gentleness and grace.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the many gifts and blessings you have shared with me over these past years.
May your journey be filled with the light and joy of this Christmas season.
