Coldwater United Church - Front Step Dedication (2026)

On October 11th, we gave thanks to God as we celebrated and dedicated the completed Front Step project. This project represented the hard work, generosity, and cooperation of many people in our church family and community.
What you are about to see is more than simply a collection of photographs. These pictures tell the story of a project that began with a need, grew through planning and hard work, and was brought to completion through the generosity, commitment, and cooperation.

At first glance, these steps may look like a construction project—concrete, materials, and workmanship. But they represent something much greater: faith, hope, generosity, and what can happen when a community comes together with a shared vision.
This project became a reality because church members, people from the wider community, contractors, tradespeople, and suppliers believed that this church and community were worth investing in. To everyone who contributed your time, skills, resources, and generosity, thank you. Your efforts have left a lasting mark on our church.
There is something meaningful about dedicating steps at a church. Every journey begins with a step, and these steps will welcome people carrying many different things—joy, sorrow, uncertainty, or hope. They will lead people into a place to worship, celebrate, find comfort, build friendships, and experience the love of God and the warmth of community.
A church is more than a building. It is a living community built through kindness, service, sacrifice, and generosity. This project reminds us that faith gives us the vision to believe something better is possible, but faith also calls us to act. Together, we have turned that vision into reality.
As we dedicate these steps, may they always symbolize welcome. May children

and grandchildren, longtime members and newcomers, friends and neighbours, and those seeking faith find a place here. May everyone who walks through these doors feel valued, respected, and welcomed.
We dedicate not only these new steps but also ourselves to the values that sustain Coldwater United Church: faith, hope, service, compassion, and community.
May these steps stand for many years as a welcoming invitation:
“Come in. There is a place for you here.”
May God bless Coldwater United Church, its congregation, its community, and all who will pass through these doors in the years ahead.
