In the soft glow of dawn, members of the Coldwater community gathered atop the Moonstone Hill for an Easter Sunrise Service led by the Coldwater Eady United Church Pastoral Charge. The ecumenical event, which began at 6:30 a.m., drew attendees from a variety of Christian denominations to celebrate the resurrection of Christ in a shared spirit of unity and hope.
As the sun rose over the quiet hills, songs of praise and reflection echoed across the landscape. The service included scripture readings, prayers, and hymns that highlighted the joy and renewal of Easter morning. Rev. Sweet emphasized the importance of coming together in faith and community, especially during the early hours of such a significant day in the Christian calendar.
“This moment at sunrise reminds us of the light that overcame darkness on Easter morning,” said Rev. Sweet. “It’s a powerful way to connect with the story of resurrection and with one another.”
A pancake and sausage Easter Breakfast was shared following the service at the Coldwater United Church. The event was praised not only for its spiritual significance but also for the stunning natural setting that framed the celebration.
This has been a tradition each year to foster a shared space for reflection, gratitude, and Easter joy.
