Greetings

Hope all are well and finally enjoying some Spring weather. In addition to the weather there are some other things to which we can look forward.

Sunday, June 1, is both Pride Sunday as well as Environmental Sunday. This is also the day of our Spring Concert at Coldwater at 7pm.

Sunday, June 8, is the Day of Pentecost when we celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit in its many forms.

Tuesday, June 10, is the 100th anniversary of The United Church of Canada.

Sunday, June 15, Is Father's Day as well as the Indigenous Day of Prayer.  It is also Trinity Sunday when we celebrate the Christian doctrine of the Trinity, the three Persons of God: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Friday, June 20, is World Refugee Day.

Saturday, June 21, is National Indigenous Day.

ALSO June, the sixth month of the year, is known for its long daylight hours in the Northern Hemisphere, marks the start of summer there, and is home to significant events like World Environment Day and Father's Day. It also has a fascinating history, with its name potentially stemming from the Roman goddess Juno.  The birth flowers of June are the honeysuckle and the rose.

June is the month with the longest daylight hours of the year in the Northern Hemisphere.  The month of June used to be the fourth of the year. A year had barely 10 months until Julius Caesar came to power. By adding two extra months to the year in 46 BC, he produced the Julian calendar, which made June the sixth month.

And, perhaps most important, June is a time when we can shift gears, change pace, slow down and, hopefully, take some time to reflect on life.  So, may we all be able to pause long enough to embrace the treasures of our being and our relationships.

JUNE BLESSINGS TO ALL.
